Mind Over Muscle

Four tricks to fool your body into working harder, longer and faster.

Our brain quits first than our body when it comes to workout. Scientist have proven that the receptors in the brain called interleukin-6 signals the body to stop by turning on the pain before we run put of fuel. Its a safety measure that tells the body to shut down to protect from injuries.
Here are some tricks to fool your brain in training more.

1.Run another kilometer.
Glycogen is the primary fuel source for our muscles. Any body fat can be used as an alternative for glycogen. Your brain knows that but is not telling you.
Divide your running road into checkpoints on different places. Think that this checkpoints are short finish lines. Your brain will think that it will finish without any effort. After you reach your first checkpoint your body will still be full of energy to burn, get ready for the next checkpoint.

2.Bench-press more.
Make an absolute goal when doing bench presses. If your goal is 8 to 15 reps then 15 is unlikely. Make a goal of low reps with perfect form. As you achive your goal, make another goal with low reps.

3.Pedal faster.
So you ran out of gas. Get of your seat and start pedaling while standing. When you stand it causes pressure on your legs forcing it to go down when you pedal up.

4.Swim another lap.
Your muscle ache due to the result of lactic acid which produces due ti stress on the muscles. Swim further by relaxing your body. It will send less lactic acid into your muscles. By relaxing you reduces tension in your muscle which lets full extension of your legs and arms.
